13 Reasons Why You Have NO SEX DRIVE!

Married men and women have sex with their spouse 58 times a year, which is a little more than once a week, according to data collected from the General Social Survey.

Married people under 30 have sex about 111 times a year. And it’s estimated that about 15 percent of married couples have not had sex with their spouse in the last six months to one year, according to Denise A. Donnelly, associate professor of sociology at Georgia State University.

So why don’t we have sex more?

A lot of people just “aren’t in the mood” as much anymore. But why the heck is that?

Below, I’ve listed 13 reasons why our libido tends to plummet. And have written these with hopes that we can get our “mojo” back as a population and on our "sexual healing" once again.

New research shows that sex is better for your happiness than money, so don’t worry be happy mon!

#1. Too Much Stress

Stress wreaks havoc on our libido and believe it or not sex actually helps relieve stress but if we’re not in the mood we can’t get the stress-relieving benefits. Find healthy ways to deal with stress. Get a massage; take a Jacuzzi, yoga class, etc. Over ways to not get as stressed in the first place. Delegate tasks, improve your time-management skills, and even talking to a therapist can make a world of difference.

#2. Problems With Your Partner

This is one of the top sex drive killers. Feeling close is a major part of desire for women. Learn to communicate better the each other by signing up for couples workshops and retreats or even seeing a couple’s counselor to establish that connection again.

#3. Alcohol

An alcoholic beverage can help you feel more open and relaxed although too much can be a sexual number (not to mention a complete turnoff)!

#4. Lack of Sleep

To little sleep can make us fatigued and irritable- aka…not in the mood! Find ways to improve your snooze. Go to bed earlier, sleep in a dark, quiet room, daily exercise, and avoid caffeine after noon.

#5. Having Kids

Though rewarding beyond belief- having kids can put a damper on your sex drive for a number of reasons- Lack of sleep, little quality time with your partner alone and the overall stress of being a parent. Do what you can to alleviate the stress and find a good babysitter!

#6. Medication

Certain drugs can dampen desire overall. These include: Antidepressants, Blood pressure medications, Birth Control Pills, Chemotherapy, Anti-HIV Drugs and Finasteride. Ask your doctor about possibilities of weaning off your medication by changing your diet and lifestyle or even ask about switching doses or drugs altogether.

#7. Poor Body Image

Feeling sexy is easier if you think you look sexy. Boost up your self-esteem by saying daily affirmations. Do things that make you feel good and help you to appreciate your body like eating right & exercise.

#8. Obesity

Studies show that being overweight interferes with healthy hormonal balance. Engage yourself in an effective weight loss program. Make changes that you can stick to and slowly over time see the pounds start to shed!

#9. Erectile Dysfunction

ED affects an estimated 30 million men. It’s basically a circulation issue. Many health conditions affect circulation like heart disease, diabetes and obesity. Smoking, excessive drinking and lack of exercise has also been linked to ED.

#10. Low Testosterone

There are many reasons why men’s testosterone levels drop. Excess body fat, medications, stress, toxicity etc. The important thing is to get your levels checked before supplementing and work towards improving levels naturally with diet, supplements and exercise before adding synthetic forms of hormones into your bod.

#11. Depression

Being depressed shuts down a lot more than sex drive. Work with a qualified therapist, and tell your doctor if you think you may be suffering from depression.

#12. Menopause

Certain symptoms of menopause can cause discomfort during sex, like vaginal dryness or night sweats. Work to alleviate symptoms by balancing your hormones naturally with diet, lifestyle and supplements. If needed, see an expert in Bio Identical hormones.

#13. Lack of Intimacy

Busy lives sometimes lack intimacy. Slow down and find ways to re-connect with your partner. Trade massages, snuggle, talk and create time for togetherness.
