Protein Energy Balls…A Delicious and Nutritious Snack!

One of my favorite snacks to eat are energy balls. These tasty little treats can satisfy a sweet craving, a hunger pang or even a quick breakfast on the go!

The possibilities are endless really.

You make any kind of energy balls you’d like!

Chocolate, banana, chocolate-banana, coconut, cherry-vanilla, peanut butter, berry…or a combination of everything!

A kitchen sink energy ball if you will!

If you have a hard time figuring out which flavors blend well together, I’ve put a couple recipes together for you below.

Cashew Nut Butter Chocolate Energy Balls

1 cup gluten-free rolled oats
3 Tbsp unsweetened raw organic cocoa powder
¼ cup unsweetened shredded coconut
1 Tbsp chia seeds
½ cup ground flaxseed
½ cup nut butter of choice
⅓ cup raw honey
2 Tbsp coconut oil
¼ cup chopped dark chocolate (optional)


Melt nut butter, coconut oil and honey on low heat. Combine into all other ingredients in a large bowl and stir until fully combined. Roll into small balls and place in the refrigerator to set. Store in an air-tight container in the refrigerator or freezer.


Zesty Orange Chocolate Energy Balls 


1 cup almonds or cashews
¾ cup pitted Medjool dates
¼ cup raw cocoa powder
1 tsp of vanilla extract
Pinch of sea salt
1 Tbsp grated orange zest
2 Tbsp cocoa nibs
Shredded coconut and/or orange zest for additional dusting


Process cashews in a food processor until crumbly. Add dates, cocoa powder, salt and vanilla and process again.

With slightly wet hands, roll mixture into 1 inch balls. (If too sticky- put in freezer for a few minutes until able to mold)

Roll into small balls, and dust each with coconut and orange zest.

Place in the refrigerator to set & store in an air-tight container in the refrigerator or freezer.




Goji Date Energy Balls


1 cup raw almonds
½ cup goji berries
¼ cup freeze-dried blueberries
1½ cup pitted dates
⅓ cup hemp hearts
2 tbsp flax meal
2 tbsp raw honey


Process the almonds, goji berries, and blueberries till uniform in size.

Remove the mixture and move to a large mixing bowl.

Process the dates into one big clump.

Remove and add to the large mixing bowl.

Add hemp hearts and flax meal, and mix everything together by hand.

Once mixed- Roll into little balls.

Place in the refrigerator to set & store in an air-tight container in the refrigerator or freezer.




¾ cup raw cashews

¼ cup raw pistachios, shelled

6 Medjool dates, pitted

¼ cup shredded coconut, unsweetened

2 tsp matcha powder

1 tbsp coconut oil

¼ pistachios, chopped (for rolling)

3 scoops Total Vegan Shake powder



Place all the ingredients (except the last ¼ cup pistachios) into a food processor. Process for one minute or until finely chopped and blended.

Using a cookie scoop, scoop out balls of mixture. Roll between your hands to create evenly sized balls.

When all balls have been rolled, roll them again through the chopped pistachios and press firmly into the balls.

Refrigerate for 15 minutes then enjoy.



¾ cup Sunbutter

¾ cup Coconut butter

½ cup Walnut butter

1 cup Ground flaxseed

3 scoops Total Vegan Shake powder

¾-1 cup Oats- Rolled Oats, Gluten Free



Put everything into 1 big bowl. Smash together with your hands until completely combined. Roll into little balls. Place on a small sheet or plate and put into freezer until hardened. Store in container in freezer.
